Purposes and Legal Basis for Processing
Personal data is processed for the following purposes:
Provision of digital services — displaying documents, identity verification and access to data from state registers. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Identity verification — sign-in via BankID, NIA or MojeID. Legal basis: consent or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(a) or (b) GDPR).
System security — access logging for the prevention of security incidents. Legal basis: legitimate interests of the controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Personal Data Processed
Depending on the service used, the following data may be processed:
First name, surname, date of birth, personal identification number
The eDoklady app does not store biometric data or document photographs.
Documents are always fetched directly from state registers in real time.
Recipients of Personal Data
Personal data is transferred exclusively to Czech public administration bodies:
Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic — Central Driver Register (CEK)
Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic — Basic Registers, Population Register
Identity providers (BankID, NIA) — for authentication purposes only
Personal data is not transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area.
Data Retention Periods
Sign-in records and access logs: 90 days
Device data: for the duration of active sign-in, up to 2 years from last activity
Document data: not stored — always fetched live from state registers

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, rectify it, request erasure,
restriction of processing, data portability and the right to object.
